LWD

Rule follower (you've been waiting) or rebel (you never stopped), we're all excited to wear white!

White is my most favorite neutral to wear and what I have most in my closet. White is crisp, clean and fresh. It instantly brightens your look.

Note: white involves some bravery and can be a high risk choice ... I'm talking stains! Wear it anyways! Be a little more careful, opt for cotton and/or textured fabric and use a good stain remover.

Thrill of the Hunt

Often, I hear from gals that the volume of retailers and fashion is so overwhelming to navigate when trying to find pieces that they fancy. I agree! It can be time consuming 'digging' through racks and pages on pages online.

I have search tips and filters I use to try and extract what I'm looking for that I hope you find helpful as you shop.

For all shopping, it's helpful to identify retailers that fit your budget and style. The same goes for IG accounts to follow that also share pieces that fit your budget and style.

Tip: Be sure to focus on things YOU love and make YOU feel great over what others are wearing.

IN STORE:

- visit at low traffic times - weekdays & mornings/evenings

- decrease distractions by turning your phone on silent and being alone

- take the time to try on! you just might be surprised! (wear good undergarments and easy to take on and off clothing and shoes)

ONLINE:

The search bar is an awesome tool.  Use it for specific descriptive words.

- Filter and reduce the search results by category (top, skirt, dress etc ..) size, price (if an option) and colors you do (or do not) want I often remove red and black. If searching for prints I select 'multicolor'

- Sort the items. For higher priced retailers I choose low to high.

- Brand - knowing certain designers that fit you well with designs you like helps narrow the search.

- Fabric- this one is under used. I search "poplin" the most!

I add items to my cart or wish list regularly to allow time to deliberate if I really want to purchase and for a chance to purchase on sale.

PS Take full advantage of Google lens!!! This technology is amazing - I will screenshot images or take photos in store and shop the results.

I hope these tips make your hunt more thrilling!

Friday Favorites: Vacation Dresses

I love vacation dressing almost as much as I love vacations. There's something special about the outfits we wear away from home and our daily lives. When we dress for an occasion, near or far, fancy or not, it shows the value of the time and people there.

Vest -astic

Vests are a great way to add structure and sophistication to your look.  That can be challenging in the warmer months as pieces are light weight (for heat survival) and casual.
A vest, due to its sleeveless design, adds polish while still keeping you cool.

PS the v-neck is elongates the face and the un-layered look is chic!

Style Tip: Pairs beautifully with shorts! I find the contrast of dressy & casual to be very stylish.

Easter in Your Home

Easter Sunday is my MOST FAVORITE day of the entire year!!! I love it more than any other day!

Easter 2023

Easter is the greatest day as it is the day we celebrate, give thanks and honor the greatest gift we'll ever receive, Christ's resurrection after his death on the cross for our sins.

It's important to my family that we exemplify this foremost in our home & lives - but we also enjoy the bunny and all the other fun and beautiful things this season brings.

This past Sunday Vivian and I created a resurrection garden to care for in preparation for Easter Sunday.

First we added some small rocks/pea gravel to a plant saucer.

We used a small pot and a large stone we found outside for the tomb.

We added potting soil all the way around and on top of the pot/tomb.

We sprinkled grass seed all over the dirt.

Then lightly covered it with a sprinkle of more dirt.

We used sticks from our back yard & glued them together to make 3 crosses.
Using a spray bottle, we'll water the top and watch the grass grow!

Note: My dear friend gifted me with the supplies for this garden (she knows I don't have a crafting bone in my body!)

3 years ago I shared this activity for children for learning about the events of Easter.

Read about it: ON THIS BLOG POST.
It includes the supplies and print out.

We also read lots of books about Easter throughout the month.

Easter dressing is VERY important!
My Easter dress & Vivian's this year are very cheerful :)
