Pineapples & Stripes

The Pineapple is Recognized in the South as a Traditional Expression of "Welcome"

This Sweet Fruit Symbolizes the Intangible Assets we Hold so Dear: Friendship, Family & Hospitality

You'll Find the Pineapple in Decor from Door Knockers to Candlestick Holders.

I Found this Pineapple Button Down and was Captured by it's Unique Cuteness! 
And this Gem was at my Local Target! Gotta Love Target! 

The Pineapples are Discrete and Yet Still Bright with their Yellow Color

My First Instinct was to Pair it with a Kelly Green Pencil Skirt to Pull from the Green Leaves from the Pineapple ... However, I got a Wild Hair and Opted for a Black & White Striped Skirt.  The Pineapple Print has very Tiny Black Dots to Mimic the Texture of the Fruit So the Blacks Complement. (I did add Green Tear-Drop Earrings) 

Navy, Brown, Pink, Purple, and Chambray are also on my List for Pairing Options

After Looking at the Two Pieces Together I was Quite Pleased, but it Needed a Something to Blend the Two Prints ... a Belt!  The Natural choice would be Black... I chose Brown.

Tres Chambray Chic Part II

For this Look I've done a Chambray Flip 

Chambray Tops have Been a Huge Hit but this Summer I'm adding Chambray Trousers to Strut in!

Sure Painted on Skinnies are Super Snazzy but Jeans can Most Certainly be a Melting Hazard in the Summer Heat

Wide Leg Pants are 'The Thing' when it comes to Summer Pants.
They're Cool, Comfortable and Chic! 

Like I've mentioned White is my Favorite Pairing with Chambray.  It Pulls from the Intermixed White Cotton Threads in the Fabric. 

Since the Trousers have a lot of Volume & Coverage I've kept my Top Very Fitted and Opted for Sleeveless Scoop-neck Tank.  

When it Comes to Showing Skin, You Can't Expose it All.  When Wearing Shorts or Skirts with Higher Hemlines Keep your Top Conservative with a High Neckline and Sleeves.  
When Wearing a Strappy/Strapless Top Keep your Bottoms Conservative with Longer Hemline Skirts or Wear Pants.

Choose a Part of Your Figure to Feature as a Focal Point - Your Legs or Upper Body 
All of You Shouldn't be the Showcase All the Time

These Chambray Trousers Came with a Self-Fabric Tie Belt, I Can't wait to Dig into my Vintage Belts and Swap it Out!  

As a Rule, I Never Use the Belts Garments Come with. However, they do Add to my Hoard of Belts and are Used with Other Pieces. They're Usually Matchy-Matchy and I Love Adding an Unexpected Pop to a Look.

The French phrase 'Tres Chic' translates to 'Very Cool' in English.

Ahhhhh Lemons!

They're my Favorite for their Bright Yellow Color and Refreshing Taste

I Incorporate Lemons in my Kitchen & Dining Decor, on the Rare Occasion I Cook, my Jewelry (Mr Gave me this Kate Spade Beauty for my Birthday) and Now in my Wardrobe.

I Find that Every Gal has an Object, Animal or Even Citrus Fruit in my Case, that Represents Something to them.

Dressy Shorts

It's a Hot Sunny TGIF .... So Wear Shorts!

Shorts are a Matter of Survival when it come to the Heat of the Southern Summer

White Shorts are Essential for Keeping Cool and Highlighting Sun-Kissed Skin (Or Spray Tanned & Freckled in my Case)

And Since I'm a Dressy Gal, my Shorts Have to Follow Suit

I Love Dressy Shorts for Several Reasons:
Create Sophistication to my Summer Looks with out the Risk of Melting.
Go from Day to Evening with a Blouse and High Heels/Wedges
Nicer Fabrics and Patterns
Flattering Cuts - Longer Lengths, Looser Legs & Higher Waists

Confession:  I've only been wearing shorts for about 2 years.  My Legs aren't my Favorite to Say the Least. But I'm Overcoming.  Every Gal has a Part of their Figure they're not a Fan of.  I Work Very Hard in the Gym and Remind myself that We are All Made in His Image.   I Dress to Flatter Them, Go through lots of bottles of faux tanning lotion and Over Purchase Nude Shoes!  And Never Ever will I Wear Ankles Straps. Sigh I'll Get Over It :)
