Savvy Shirt Dress

 A shirt dress is a classic piece that will take you to many places for many years! Personally, I like the sharp detail of the collar and waist defining silhouette. 

This dress was such a surprise find! This design has been popular for a couple years now but at a higher price point from this designer.  I stumbled upon this look-a-like on Amazon of all places.

Fun Fact: I rarely shop amazon! 

The fabric is substantial with structure and embroidered detailing on the cuffs and hem.

Style Tips: Swap out the belt for a leather one, layer with a sweater vest and/or add print with a scarf, handbag or boots.

Very into Vests

 

Gals, I'm very into vests. I have been for 2 decades now. Since I'm petite layering long sleeves can be  challenging. Not to mention, it doesn't get really cold down here in the south. I like that a vest adds polished shape and structure to a look without being too bulky or stiff. And just a touch of warmth.

This one is from Amazon! Only the 2nd piece I've purchased from amazon that I like - it's just not my go-to for apparel. It comes in a lot of colors.  I. paired it with a crisp white shirt (with puff sleeves - my jam!), distressed jeans and the hottest shoe right now, clogs.

Note: after taking these pictures I realized these jeans are a bit too long for me so I'm going to cut the hem.  I also prefer a raw hem as it's less bulky.

The It Frock

Style elements that are trending hot: smocking, puff sleeves, tiny floral prints and midi length dresses.  This frock has them all! This dress resonated with me for the lavender, orange, and blue colors popping through in this wild flower print and the light weight fabric that makes it perfect all year.  Sandals for warm weather, sneakers for any weather and booties/boots for cooler weather.
I can't wait to add a denim or a moto jacket this Fall.

Maxi Skirt 5 Ways

Happy Monday gals!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was as good as it gets. I had a splashing time with the finest gal pals under the sun at the beach.  We soaked up vitamin sea sitting on the sand, toasted each other and the good in our lives and stayed up way too late sharing laughs so big it hurt.

One of my favorite pieces for the summer season is a light maxi skirt for it's comfort, pretty patterns and versatility.  I also think they make you look longer. This one is a gem!
