Out Catching Rays

TGIF gals!

I've decided not to complete my Friday Favorites post scheduled for today because it's beautiful outside, sunny and 83!

I will share it tonight or first thing in the morning but today I'm going to be out catching rays with my darling Vivian Louise! This is my favorite way to spend today!

Lady in Red

TGIF!  I look forward to saying that all week for many reasons.  Another week comes to an end and I like to look back and reflect on the accomplishments, the laughter and the blessings.  I'm a goal oriented person with an obsession with lists (they're everywhere! purse, desk, kitchen, car etc..) I check back on my lists and see how I measured on completing what I had aimed to do that week.  I don't always get it all crossed off but I sure do make a great effort and that's what counts.  There's always another week so cheers to the weekend!!!

This weekend will be slammed full of cheers as I host my first soiree in our new home and celebrate being back home in Charlotte 'SL in the QC' - Stay tuned for a recap next week :)

P.S. The champagne emoji for iPhone is finally here! I've already used it with almost every text/post in excess!

For this edition of Friday Findings I'm sharing the color red.  I'm not sure why, but I feel very Parisian when I wear red.  I always tell Mr when I'm begging him to take me to Paris that I will need red shoes, handbag and jacket.  He laughs knowing darn well I'll make sure I really do have them when we go.

I find that some gals are intimidated by vibrant reds and I'm often asked with my red hair if I wear it, Yes!  Wearing a bold color can be empowering. Own it!

So here are some gorgeous candy apple red beauties I'm lusting over ....

Topper Coat
I love this vibrant red topper coat!  The bracelet sleeves, popped funnel collar and side slits make for gorgeous detailing. The fabric is mid weight so perfect for the mild winters in the South.

Dress
This sheath dress is perfect for office or evening.
It's also an all year dress when you layer in the colder months.

Skirt
The gold zippers give this skirt modern shine.

Blouse
Wrap blouses are chic and very flattering

Handbag
Wear this peopled leather bag on the elbow or cross body.
It holds all you need with it's expandable sides.
I've got this bag on my dream list!
Shoes
Red suede pumps are sure to stop traffic

I just recently added these bright beauties to my collection - The Salvatore Ferragamo Vara pump is iconic and are by far my most adored shoes and worth every penny.  I wear my black pair so much that I actually resole them.
A smart investment for my feet. And who doesn't love bows on toes?!!

Scarf
Keep warm in this cashmere scarf

Lipstick
This lipstick is on my lips the most!

P.S. Almost all of these items are currently 50% off at Ann Taylor through the weekend!

{Virtual} Champagne Cheers

Today is Champagne Day!

I Believe in Celebrating Cheerfully with a Tall Glass of Bubbles!
All Who Know me in 'Real Life' know it's my Signature Spirit

My Favorite Flute 'Mrs' Kate Spade

So if we were to 'Cheers' ....

I'd Cheers to ... Fall's Cooler Temps!  I Love Running, but running in Southern Summer Heat, well I'm afraid Mr would find me in a ditch suffering from heat stroke!  I'm really looking forward to running a 5 mile Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning back home with my Queen City Gal Pals :)
P.S. Target has Glow in the Dark Gym Clothes! I just Brought Home Highlighter Yellow & Pink Long Sleeved Tops - and Super Affordable

I'd Cheers to ... the start of my second sewing class!  Watching Project Runway makes me think I can 'Make it Work'!.  My first class was learning how to operate a sewing machine and I was able to make a glen plaid houndstooth skirt (most favorite print) in a cashmere wool blend.  It turned out great (on the blog next week) but now I want to expand on my new found skills and make dresses! My 1st Dress is in construction with my fabric cut and ready to pin!

I'd Cheers to ... Fall Fashion! The addition of darker, richer hues, thick textured fabrics (tweed, wool, boucle, leather, denim), darker nail polish, booties, topper jackets, and hats!  Fall fashion is about adding just a bit of warmth without having to pile on the heavy layers.

I'd Cheers to ... the start of another amazing year serving nonprofits!  I've been a Junior Leaguer for 6 years now and am in my second league.  I'm also serving on the board of a local military nonprofit for  a second year ... And This year I'm Madam President!   It's a lot of work but the members have become dear friends and we serve an amazing community of Military Service Members! Love America.

I'd Cheers to ... Bible Study!  I'm in a ladies bible study by Beth Moore.  Sister, if you haven't done one - You Must!  Mr and I are also in a small group on Sunday evenings.  I'm learning and growing everyday - God is Good!!

I'd Cheers to ... Le Blog!  This is my 10th month sharing my style and I Love it!  There've been lots of ups & downs but Dressing Beautifully is my Passion and my hopes to inspire others.  Coming soon I am going to be sharing beauty and home styling!

Celebrate Cheerfully with Champagne!

Drapey

Relax, it's TGIF!

Strut the Streets in a Pair of Lounge Pants that Make you Feel Like You're Still in Your PJ's.

The Drapey Pant Trend has Hit the Stores and I Must Say my Gut Reaction was: Throwback to 'Hammer Time'!  Sometimes what was "Cool" Back-in-the-Day, should Remain Vaulted in Our Memories and Brought Back Just for #TBT Laughs.

However, the Comfort and Toned Down Volume of the Re-Design has me Reexamining this Style.

Elastic Waist: Allows for Fit but Oh So Casual - Contrast with a Dressy Blouse (A Simple Front-Tuck Highlights Shape Preventing Volume Overload)
Cuff:  Avoid Elastic on the Ankle - Too Exaggerated and gives off a 'Genie in a Bottle' Costume Look.
Color:  Opt for a Darker Neutral Color - More Sophisticated
Shoes:  For Office - Pumps or Heeled Booties, Weekend - Slip on Sneakers, Night - Strappy Heels

I've Embraced the Trend and Added Another Olive Piece to my Fall Wardrobe.

Have a Fabulous Friday in these Fluid Drawstring Pants!
