#NSALE 2018

So, I wasn't going to post about the Nordstom Anniversary Sale this year because every other blogger out there is flooding their sites & Instagram with posts and while I love a good sale it's not the reason you should shop.  I try to always purchase things below full price but in the end I purchase them because they are a positive addition to my collection.  Not because it's a 'deal'.

Each and every piece should be loved and worn.  (because nobody has a money tree in the backyard to have pieces that collect dust #waste)

After looking through the sale online I did however find a few things that caught my eye.  They are all versatile, classic and on trend.
I'm definitely not purchasing them all but the jumpsuit and white booties are sure to make it in my closet :)

Lace & Pinstripe Blouse

This top has all the details! The pleated ruffled neck, lace neckline and pinstriped cotton.  Great for work and weekend.

Never met a bow necked blouse I didn't love!

This blouse is so soft and feminine but it's the dark lace trim that sets it off! Cute with jeans or with trousers/pencil skirt at the office.

Gals, this shirt has all the Gucci vibes without the Gucci price tag! I seriously thought it was when I was scrolling online.  It definitely has my attention.

Can you have too many jumpsuits??? I'm going to say no so that I can add this one! It's classy and in a crop length I can wear any shoes I want and not have to hem.  It's perfect for work, church or dressy occasions like date night or a party.

Probably won't be purchasing this jacket because I already have several tweed jackets but it's a classic with modern/interesting details in the colors and fringe.

These shades are #2 (after the white booties) on my list to purchase.  I love the gradient from black to tortoise (similar to the expensive Celine shades).  I have a few pairs of Kate Spade sunnies and love them all.

Gorjana makes some of my favorite jewelry - love these in gold.

Of all the things in the #nsale these I will be purchasing!  I'm obsessed.  I will be wearing them with jeans and dresses.  I love the low heel so that I can actually wear them all the time (high heels are only for church). And because the heel is low it dresses up a casual jeans and top outfit for the weekends.
Even though the white color will break the South's rule forbidding their wear after Labor Day, I'm skirting it and wearing them anyways.  (🙀🙀🙀) They will brighten up those dark winter hues.

I'm sooooo disappointed these have sold out! If they do come back in stock, which I'm hopeful they will, I will purchase! The color and pointed toe elongate the leg (I need ALL the help I can get!) And they look super comfy.

Summer Suit

Let's talk a little work wear this Wednesday ... so that's nothing new to this blog as I'm pretty sure a good 80% of my posts have been outfits for the office and that's because that's where 5 days of the week are spent and with church on Sundays the dressy clothes are where I invest.

I also happen to love and feel pretty in tailored classic pieces. Save the cutoffs and graphic tees for the millennials.

Now even though I'm home with baby Vivian Louise this Summer doesn't mean I have to give up my style and live in gym clothes (just NO only while actually sweating gals) or lounge wear (although I do keep it fairly comfy no need to mess up silk when your playing with a babe). Thank goodness she doesn't spit up!!!!

Summers down here in the South are hotter than hot especially with the humidity and sweat is inevitable! There's no glowing this time of year.

But you can still be sharp as a tack and not be a puddle.  Suits that are made of lighter fabrics and colors paired with breathable tops are the ticket.
I was thrilled when I found this lavender suit (every since I decided that was baby girl's color when I was pregnant I've been purple obsessed - for us both!)
I patiently waited and was able to purchase both pieces for under $80 on sale - yay for those promo emails!
Definitely taking the pants to get hemmed, really wished they had a slimmer cropped pant but those were sold out.

Also you gals know I'm all about spitting up the pieces for versatility soooo....

For the Blazer pair with:
Distressed/skinny Jeans (blue or white)
Cotton Tank
Dressy Shorts
Wear any of these combos to a happy hour or date night and you will be one of the chicest gals there!

For the Trousers pair with:
Lace blouse
Denim top
Off the shoulder top
Wear any of these combos to church or after work hours event

So, while corporate wear has definitely taken on a more casual vibe a suit will never stere you wrong.

Functional cuffs are a MUST for any blazer I own.  It's a nice detail and great for us petite gals.

You also need print to break up the monochrome color - this tank while casual, tucked in combats it's casual nature and keeps you cool.

Chambray Jumpsuit

I've always loved jumpsuits, it comes from my affinity for 70's fashion (don't judge).  This year alone I've worn 3 jumpsuits.  If you follow me on Instagram you saw that I even branched out and wore one to church this past Sunday.  I go for jumpsuits that define the waist and have wide legs.
As with most of my outfits I like sleeveless.

I actually found this jumpsuit from a fellow fashionista on Instagram that shares a similar style to my own.  It comes in this chambray fabric and in white.  While my natural instinct is to buy the white since it's my most favorite color to wear the chambray is a much better option for all year wear and to keep clean.

The fabric is a great weight, it doesn't wrinkle too bad and it's heavy enough that it's not see through and holds it's shape nicely.

The ruffled shoulders help create an hourglass silhouette making your waist appear tiny.
The length is perfect for all gals, clearly it brushes my ankles but I'm petite.  On a taller gal it will be cropped.  It's nice to not have to hem! It also allows for flat sandals or heels.

Since this jumpsuit is a blank canvas you could add your personal touch with jewelry, scarves, belts, and jackets.

I'm really liking this brand!

Tomorrow is the 4th of July and I hope that you have fun plans to celebrate the blessing of living in a free country with friends and family!

Mr's parents are in town and soaking up every moment with baby Vivian Louise.
We are headed out on our first trip without her this weekend to Michigan for a wedding and I'm packing this jumpsuit to wear Friday night.
Note:  I have NO idea how we are going to leave her but I know she's in the most loving hands and we will all be just fine (I'm not sure who's going to cry more ... definitely me!)
