Bejeweled

Gals, I saw this dress adorned with great big colorful jewels, gracious did it spark joy! I didn't even try it on.  I grabbed the hanger and made my way to check out. I believe that clothing should have this effect on us. We should love what it looks like whether it's the color, print, style or fabric.

Fun Fact: I love gaudy jewelry. I have quite the collection of costume pieces, particularly cocktail rings.

This dress in a satin like material, is light weight (great movement when you walk!) in a classic shirt dress design with a flowy, unfitted, silhouette. This gives it versatility in fit for all body shapes (even a little baby bump!).
For me, I prefer a more fitted look and defined waist so I add shape with belts and layers.

Here are ways to style this bejeweled maxi shirt dress ...

I like this layer as it gives shape and warmth but lets as much of the dress shine as possible.
I chose a metallic for added shine.
It also makes it easier to move and layer with a jacket/coat.

A full sweater will keep you warm and creates a soft casual look for day time.
Make sure your sweater is shorter in length and hits right at the natural waist
to keep the proportion long on the bottom.
Style Tip: you can pin the hem of the sweater folded under.

I love adding fur in the winter. It's luxurious and warm.
This adds shape & texture while keeping your arms free.

Any lady wearing jewels will be wearing a jacket like this one. This is great for dressy occasions.
Consider a blazer as well for a similar style.
Style Tip: A velvet blazer would be stunning this time of year - cuff the sleeves!

You can pair this with absolutely any color! Truly the sky is the limit, pastels, jewel tones, neutrals ...
As for shoes, heels or boots are great.

I may not own any royal jewels but I sure can dress like it!

Long Sleeve Dresses

A long sleeve dress, in a flowing design, is very lovely. It exudes femininity.

In a colorful pattern, it's visually interesting and allows for pretty pairing options.

This dress struck my fancy for the vibrant and unexpected colors I don't see often. The teal and orange is striking. I also find the drop waist and long cuffs flattering in balancing the voluminous sleeves and skirt.

I added a complimentary orange belt (vintage) but would find any color or texture such as suede would be nice.

Jumpsuits, Accessorized

I share jumpsuits all the time because I love them.

Hear me out, take an a-line maxi dress and make the skirt pants and you have a jumpsuit. Now, I know there is more involved in removing it when you go to the ladies room. It's not even 30 seconds! And if you're like me and rarely drink water, it's not an issue (I actually am trying for real this time to drink more!)

I find the cohesiveness, long line and sleek look jumpsuits have flattering. I like the wide leg pant and versatility of layering.

This navy pinstripe is SHARP! It has the sophistication of a suit and modern playfulness of a jumpsuit.
I added a snake print belt for texture, pattern and add contrast. You could do this with a fun jacket and/or boots.

I carried my bag as a clutch for a chic and more special occasion look.
For day, grab your shoulder bag.

This all black jumpsuit is great for work, a night out or for holiday events (if you're thinking about that already). I rarely wear black but it is a vey classy palette with endless opportunities to accessorize.
Also, this one is a fabulous price!

I added a vintage Ralph Lauren belt that has a western feel but in black gives a monochromatic look that gives added length.
I added pattern and texture in my handbag - but still in the same neutral hues.

I encourage you to use accessories to add interest and elevate a one piece dress or jumpsuit!
And they don't have to 'match' - in fact I find it more stylish when they don't.

Short Sleeve Sweater

Gals, it's not quite sweater weather but it sure is cooler and just right for a short sleeve sweater.

I like short sleeve sweaters as they're less bulky, great for layering, add texture and add a good amount of warmth (this is the South).

My sweater is from The Social Shop here in Charlotte

Style Tip: layer sweaters over midi dresses - great for cropped sweaters

Style Tip: If your sweater is longer than you'd like - add a belt to create shape and ideal proportions

Asymmetrical

I love a crisp button up shirt. While classic and timeless they alone are simple but with design & styling they can be very interesting.

This top marries the sharp elements of a pinstripe print and crisp fabric with modern design in an asymmetrical hem, sleeveless cut and versatile button back collar to create a modern and chic top.

You can style this with a lot of contrast by pairing with a pair of jeans or shorts or you can maintain continuity with a pair of trousers like I did.

Style Tip: layer with a blazer, denim jacket or even leather come Fall.

I also love this OFF THE SHOULDER OPTION

Boldly Go

Some trends are fun and easy to embrace while others are bold and harder to incorporate.

Personally, I embrace exaggerated designs. Here's the deal, if you like it then you wear it! Hold your head up, walk tall and own it!

I know the horseshoe and barrel cut jeans are a statement design but gals, I like them!

available in several washes

This pair is a splurge but the fit and finish is fabulous!!!

This pair is an identical wash but without the distressing and a fraction of the cost. Shipping did take a while but worth it.

Both of these are high waisted, fitted on the hips and roomy on the legs when fits my shape perfectly!
I found they both ran true to size.
I styled them with a cropped linen shell and heels for a dressy look but a tee and sneakers work too. That's the beauty of jeans - they go with everything!

If you are looking to try the horseshoe jean trend, join me! I'm sure I'll receive looks & opinions but I don't care.

Palm Royale

If you are watching Palm Royale, then you already know how fabulous the fashion is! If you're not, it's on Apple TV and you can thank me later :)

Palm Beach, FL in the 1960's was full of color, extravagance and shine.  Me to a T!!!

These pants are so fun!
I purchased from Anthropologie in store and unfortunately they are not online yet
but when they are I'll link them and share on IG.

Palm Beach style to me is bright colors, big prints, caftans, silk scarves, mini shift dresses, big baubles, thick sunglasses and cute little handbags.

Here are some perfectly Palm Royale pieces ...

LWD

Rule follower (you've been waiting) or rebel (you never stopped), we're all excited to wear white!

White is my most favorite neutral to wear and what I have most in my closet. White is crisp, clean and fresh. It instantly brightens your look.

Note: white involves some bravery and can be a high risk choice ... I'm talking stains! Wear it anyways! Be a little more careful, opt for cotton and/or textured fabric and use a good stain remover.

Pretty little white dresses ...
