Friday Favorites: Trench Coats

TGIF! With all the rainy weather, today is perfect for sharing the classic trench coat. This is a timeless piece that has a lasting role in your wardrobe. I have a midi length tan trench coat that I've had since I was engaged 16 years ago. It's a quality piece I'll continue to wear for many more years to come.

Now this year I added this CROPPED TRENCH for a sporty, modern look.

Here are some pretty trench coats ...

Friday Favorites: Sleeveless Sweaters

TGIF! Soon I'll be able to write TGI-Fall but not quite yet folks. Simmer down all you pumpkin lovers it's still hot as the dickens outside.

Fun Fact: I hate all things pumpkin flavored - which is a shame b/c Trader Joes will flavor just about any food item with pumpkin spice this time of year.

Since college I've been wearing and layering sleeveless knits.  I love them because they bring the warmth but in a shapely, moderate way.  I have and always will live in the South and a full on sweater just isn't needed very often here. Ease of movement is very important to me too and being petite I find long sleeves cumbersome. When I was in the office I wore knit shells over my crisp collared shirts all the time, often toped with a blazer.

I'm ecstatic that sleeveless sweaters are out in plethora this season to wear solo when they weather's just right and for layering in the cold!

Here are some favorites ...

Friday Favorites: Oversized Collars

 TGI-Summer!

My Peachy Keen Dress & Here

I like big collars and I can not lie! They add a prominent & feminine framing that draws the eye upwards towards your smile. The exaggerated size adds volume to your shoulders making the waist appear smaller! It's all about proportions gals.

They also remind me of pieces my Mamma wore when I was little and she's the one I'll always want to be like. She followed Princess Diana's fashion in the same way I follow Princess Kate's. #likemotherlikedaughter

The It Frock

Style elements that are trending hot: smocking, puff sleeves, tiny floral prints and midi length dresses.  This frock has them all! This dress resonated with me for the lavender, orange, and blue colors popping through in this wild flower print and the light weight fabric that makes it perfect all year.  Sandals for warm weather, sneakers for any weather and booties/boots for cooler weather.
I can't wait to add a denim or a moto jacket this Fall.
