LWD with Style

A little white dress (LWD) is a staple for the Summer season. This clean fresh palette is not only a classic but a blank canvas for adding your personal touch.
White also brightens your appearance and has such a lovely look to it.

Belts are my go-to for adding style to my outfits. I have quite the collection of vintage & designer belts. I find them flattering for adding structure, shape, texture and shine. While they do add significant interest they don't overtake which is key when adding accessories.

I encourage you to embrace bright whites and to add your personality to a look that's otherwise simple.

Statement jewelry, shoes, scarves, handbags & hats are all great ways to express your style.

Friday Favorites: Little White Dresses

TGI-Summer! The freshest, lightest, cleanest, crispest and just prettiest piece to wear is a little white dress.  I could say, in my opinion, but I'm confident enough to say it's fact.

Above all, I'd wear white. There's just something so elegant and bright about a pure palette.

Here are some wonderful white dresses ...

Crochet Lace

What's lovelier than lace? Lace with a collar! Gals, I need another white dress like I need a hole in the head, and yet here I am adding another lbd to my collection.

Hi my name is Sarah Louise and I'm a hoarder of white garments.

But this one has a sharp satin collar and big statement crochet lace showcased in the shear sleeves and hem. In a classic fitted bodice and roomy skirt it's a timeless addition.
There you have it, I've justified it's place in my closet.

I actually ordered this dress last month as it was a contender for my Easter or birthday dress. Sadly it did not arrive in time for either.
Note:  when choosing 'free shipping' (duh who wants to pay) be aware that it may take a 2-3 weeks to arrive. It comes down to how bad to do you want it?

Due to it's distinct features designer pairings were a must.  Basically I wanted to feel fancy.  Feel free to opt for wedges or a basket bag for a more casual look.

I chose nude studded heels and my brand new red handbag for a bold contrasting color. And since the dress and heels were light and neutral another pop of color with bright turquoise earrings was perfect.

Personally I feel a single pop of color can be too predictable. Two opposing colors amps up the style factor.

If you aren't following me on Instagram (shame on you) you missed this #treatyoself red bag.
Real quick, I have been working towards earning a new career position for some time now and this girl boss hit it out of the park!! I don't mean that boastful by any means.  I've worked very hard in everything related to my career and I've been blessed for my title and scope of responsibilities to reflect that. And because I hustle hard, I play hard.

I've had my eye on this bag for over 9 months and as soon as I signed my new offer letter I was online placing my order.
I'm seriously into red accessories lately! Move over pink, a richer more sophisticated lady's come to town.

I love this bag for it's color, medium size, lightweight straps that can be worn short & long on the shoulders or cross body and it's ladylike style.

Needless to say I've been wearing the hound out of it!

Take it from me you can never have too many white dresses and pair it with bold colors!

LWD

LWD- Little White Dress

I can not have enough white in my wardrobe! It's seriously an addiction.  I would wear head-to-toe white everyday if I could, ok that's a little much and I can't just abandon color but I truly love wearing white. So, naturally between Easter and Labor Day most of my looks incorporate white.

White is crisp and clean.  It brightens with a it's blank canvass.  It's contrast, black, is the staple neutral for most gals - for me I own very little black.  Yes, black is classic, slimming and not so fragile but white is just as essential.  Anything can be slimming in the right cut and fabric.  White is equally as classic, just a lighter version but I can't argue that it is a 'careful' color to wear. Meaning no one wants to wear visible dirt or stains and when wearing white that's something to consider.

This white dress caught my eye for it's fabric, sleeves, and waist sash!  I'm digging the trending rolled sleeve.  I've seen it a lot on dresses over the past 2 seasons and I find it adds a touch of casual. It creates a large cap sleeve giving lots of room for movement and also slims the arms with it's larger opening.

The waist sash is the best thing you can do for any gal to create shape.  The pleated cummerbund sits right below the rib cage/above the belly button at the smallest part of a lady.  The side attached sash allows you to further pull in the waist and add extra femininity with a bow.

The fabric is a light weight cotton perfect for the heat of Summer.  Because it is white and in a light weight fabric lining is key - no one needs to see what's underneath!

I paired this dress with nude pumps and added a pop of color and interest with a large bib necklace made of purple stones.  This necklace was a find! It's not in my usual taste of delicate and shiny baubles but it's a natural beauty.

Wear this dress to the office or to a summer soiree!

So Naturally the Girly Girl in Me Couldn’t Wait to Tie the Bow on this Dress.

Belk, with it’s Modern Southern Style is my Favorite Departments Store. This Year Belk Hosted a Southern Designer Showcase Line Featuring an Adored Boutique Designer of mine LaRoque so it was no Surprise to Find this Gem Among the Treasure of Dresses!

The Beautiful Collar Sash Presents an Elegant Finishing Detail. It Creates a Flattering Halter Neckline Showcasing the Shoulders and Drawing the Eye Upwards Towards the Pretties Part on a Lady, Her Smile :)

This LWD is a Lovely Piece to Add to Your Summer Wardrobe and Would be Perfectly Fitting for a Bride-to-Be at her Showers, Luncheons, Rehearsal and Honeymoon.

I Pulled my Red Locks Back to Feature the Collar Bow and Added Bright Turquoise Earrings for a Pop of Color.  I Choose Neutral Pumps for a Simple and Sophistication Look.  A Pair of Flat Sandals would be also be Cute and Casual Chic.
