life changing products

I'm a set-in-my-ways kind of gal. I find a product or way of doing something and I stick with it.

Note: most of it is passed down from my Mama.

However, I have found some game changing things that have me never wanting to go back to my old ways.

Here are things that make my life easier, cleaner, healthier and just better ...

DYSON VACUUM

the BEST there is! So much I have 3 models

I'm a bit neurotic about cleanliness

SHARK ROTATING STEAM MOP

a new addition to our floors now that we have puppy Trixie

I take full advantage of chemicals but this is only steam if you are adverse to harsh cleansers

SONICARE TOOTHBRUSH

feels like you just stepped out of the chair - I haven't used a manual in over 10 years

MAKEUP BRUSH CLEANER

this is new to me this year and magic!

just a quick dip and the make up falls right off the brush

MAKEUP REMOVER BALM

I used remover wipes for years to take my face off but after using this cream that melts it all away - I'll never go back!

COTTON PADS

These are so thin they don't absorb your product making it last so much longer.

I use these for my face toner & nail polish remover.

PRIMERS

Whether it's drugstore or designer a primer is key to your makeup adhering to your face like it's supposed to. There are a lot out there - I use this one for my face & this one for my eyes.

They allow the pigments to really shine and stick all day long.

EARBUDS

I'm as busy as a bee during the day and it's just so uncomfortable to hold the phone to your ear - also speaker phone is disruptive. I'm able to make calls and stay productive with earphones.

I've been using these for ~10 years. I have small ears so the wrap around is essential for comfort and placement especially if I'm running/exercising.

VELVET HANGERS

These are sleek and slim for organizing your closet. The uniformity and design make for a functional and pretty closet.

IRON

We are super particular about ironing. We press nearly everything we wear.

A good iron makes such a difference. It also steams.

SOCKS

I wear these for running & exercising.

I have very problematic & arthritic feet and these provide great comfort.

LACE UNLINED BRAS

I only have 1 molded cup bra. I prefer a sheer bra for a close fit and I do not want any enhancement in volume ... but I will take all the lift I can get at this point!

PANTIES

not to overshare but I've been wearing these for 15 years! They're the most comfortable and invisible under my garments.

Note: I hang dry them!

TANNER

I've been bronzing my legs for nearly 20 years.

This one I've been using for over 5. After shaving I rub a nickel size amount over each leg with my hands and voila. They aren't blinding. Gracious is this so much better than panty hose!!!

PLANNER

This one is the best I've used so far.

I know there's lots of calendar/to-do apps out there to organize your time & life but to me there's nothing quite as satisfying is putting pen to paper and then, crossing it off!!! #joy

Friday Favorites: Colorful Sweaters

TGIF! Gracious it's been a full week of Fall fun and it's going to keep on through the weekend. We attended a fall festival at Vivian's school, her first field trip (she loved that I rode the bus with her class), book fair, so many parties and Trunk or Treat tonight!!

Confession: Fall is my list favorite season ('Gasp' is the reaction I receive when I share this so I usually keep to myself) it's true though. I'm not a fan, however, I will say the activities with friends is bringing a whole lot of joy!

I changed over my closet storing away my warm weather clothing and pulling out my cold weather.

Unfolding and organizing all my colorful cozy sweaters not only has me prepared for the upcoming chill it also has me eager to style them.

LBD

Gals, I believe you should always have at least one Little Black Dress. I say at least one because you can have one that fits for day & night but rarely the reverse.

MY LBD

Holidays are almost here (I know, I know). A LBD is a great option for so many occasions all year round.

Black is classic, slimming and a blank canvass for styling with jewelry, shoes and accessories (I personally like adding statement belts).

Style Tip: Changing your hairstyle from curly, straight or in an updo also gives a whole new look to the dress.

Lady Who Lunches

Lately I've been working to be more intentional in spending one on one time with others.

One way has been by adding more lunch dates to my calendar. I find sitting down mid day is a lovely way to catch up and share quality time.

Note: this does take effort and everyone has full plates ... but I believe that time with one another is an act worth pursing.

Here's why I believe in being a Lady who lunches ...

PERSONAL

A table for 2 creates an atmosphere of sharing that's personal and specific to those two ladies. You can catch up on the mundane, the overview, the secrets and have private space to share the hard.

Tip: Have the treat! My Mamma inspires me to let down my crazy nutritional guards and enjoy the sweet things in life. I love her so much!

LIGHT

one of my favorite lunch spots is

on the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island with Ryan each Summer

Lunch is often a much lighter fare and can often be best served at home!

It's also literally lighter and weather permitting you can often dine outside.

I believe whole heartedly that sunshine is the best medicine!

I dare you to try not to laugh your entire lunch under the sun!

TIMELY

Practicality is important and there never seems to be enough easy or convince. Whether you're working, wrangling littles or pulled in various directions - we all have to eat. Lunch can be incorporated during work & school hours, it's typically a faster meal and if need be welcomes littles with some crayons/toys.

CASUAL

You can come as you are straight from activities, errands and even the chit chat can even be on a smaller level. You can even make it a working lunch and tackle tasks together.

Note: since this is a treat for me I do enjoy dressing up a bit :)

BLESSING

Quality time is blessing! It's a gift to be cherished. When I think on times that I was invited to lunch, I felt special and valued. It opened a door to encourage, support & love one another.
