Orange

Fun Fact: I love birds. Not tropical or pet birds but majestic big birds found in Southern marshes and coastal areas. In order to honor this affinity I've added wallpaper, decor and art throughout our home.

Ryan: Another piece of bird art? And in our bedroom?!!

Me: It sure is! Orange you glad? ... Now we have birds in nearly every room!!

Emojis would best depict his reactions.

While birds may be sprinkled throughout our home, the color orange is in my wardrobe.

I find orange to be an underestimated beauty that adds a vibrant compliment to other colors such as pink, blue, purple and all the pastel shades.

I do prefer bright orange and styling it with more color and prints both also bright and light.

Friday Favorites: Orange Gladness

Orange you glad it's Friday? and Sunny? and the season for wearing bright colors & sundresses?

Personally I find a bright tangerine color cheerful and pretty. Wear it as an accent or as a base color wither way I find it compliments beautifully with green, purple, blue and pink ... basically any color!

Orange Gladness

Orange you glad it's the new year - or that the kids are back in school (me too!) I love fresh starts and new beginnings but New Year's can be too much pressure. The reality is each week, morning, hour or even half hour you can start new. I find my self adjusting my perspective throughout my days.

This is my 10th year sharing on this space and for the first month I'm going to create very colorful outfits to inspire you! Kate Spade said 'Live Colorfully' and I couldn't agree more - which is one of many reasons she's one of my favorite designers.

I like mixing bold colors and pastels. It makes for a pretty contrast that's more unexpected than pairing color with a neutral. Using the color wheel is a full tool for combining colors but honestly going with what looks beautiful to you is best.

As much fun as color blocking is, I do believe in adding print and shine, even if small. I chose a cool neutral snake print handbag and metallics with a classic hoop earrings and hardware on my loafers. The brightness from the ivory in the shoes & bag enhance the colors of the outfit.

I adore the sweetheart illusion design! It's so unique yet very wearable.

I also find high waisted pleated pants flattering and comfortable. They create a soft silhouette as opposed to super fitted pants.

Friday Favorites: Bright Colored Shoes

Orange you glad it's Friday?!! After traveling for the past 6 weeks I've had a lot of projects to catch up on at work and in managing our home life. Thank goodness darling Vivian was back at Summer camp! I feel like I'm in a good place and ready for a fun weekend visiting my Mamma and going to church on Sunday, something I've really missed this Summer. I'm back out again next Thursday for a very special beach trip, stay tuned :)

It's rare that I own a shoe that isn't nude but when I do opt for a color, I go bold! One of my favorite colors to add as an accent into my wardrobe and in my home is a bright orange. I think of the Hermes signature color and find it to brings an unexpected pop that you rarely see.

I used it in Vivian's nursery on the drapery with a greek key tape trim, I have a bright orange purse, a Hermes cuff and now these slide sandals. I truly believe bright orange compliments nearly every color palette. I've worn these every single. day. this week alongside a lavender top, blue floral dress, the outfit above and a simple white tank & jeans.

Orange You Glad 🍊

Gals I've got that Friday feeling! Despite that it's a very rainy day, I've got joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart! With Mother's Day on Sunday I've been reflecting over the past several days on the magnitude of the blessing God has given me in making me Vivian Louise's Mamma.
With His help I faced my fears and was brave. I trusted Him and His plan and I was blessed. Blessed beyond comprehension. That's a lot of mushiness so now on to the fashion ....

I love the color orange. Not just any shade but the bright sunny shade of orange ... think naval orange. Orange was ALL the rage in the 70's and you gals know how I love 70's fashion. And just the fashion (home decor and culture was terrible!) Orange also reminds me of Hermes and that's top tier when it comes to luxury fashion. Color can be powerful with branding. Think Tiffany blue for example.

Orange pairs well with purple, pink and blues. Honestly it pairs great with everything. Again, we're talking bright cheery orange, no burnt dull hues. I even incorporated pops of orange in Vivian Louise's nursery.
