Friday Favorites: Filthy Animals

TGIF and 1 week til Christmas!!! I'm so holly jolly over here to celebrate Jesus's birthday, the blessings this year has brought (yes I know it's be challenging but what year isn't?) and the magic with our darling Vivian Louise!

Side note: for over a month we've been renovating several rooms in our home and it's finally coming to completion! Just a few last finishing touches. Blog posts on everything coming at ya in the new year!

For my last 'Friday Favorites' post of 2020 I thought I'd go out fierce since that's been an adjective I'd use to describe a lot of things about 2020.

Here are some fierce animal prints to dress beautifully in ...

A Little Warm - A Lot of Cool

Gals, it may be sweater weather most places but down here in the South we can have some down right warm Winter days which makes a sweater vest a perfect fit. I absolutely love sleeveless tops for layering and a knit adds texture and warmth.

A pretty button up/blouse underneath or jacket on top and you won't be too cold or hot.

I loved this one for it's mix of classic cable knit and modern exaggerated shoulders and shorter hem. I paired it with the most comfortable faux leather pants! These pants fit higher on the waist and have a straight cropped leg allowing for easy movement and show off a pair of sassy shoes! I also love the neutral burgundy color for something that's dark but not as harsh as black.

Sometimes you just need something else besides a pair of jeans and leather is a chic option. You don't have to dress them up with pumps, although 2020 has lit a fire to get dressed up and go out! A sneaker and denim top/jacket with a graphic tee is a very cool & casual option.

Friday Favorites: Cozy Jackets

One of the best things about Winter's cold temperatures is bundling up in cozy clothes.

Now, let's be real, down here in the South anything below 50 and we're layered up like a snow bunnies. I'm not sure how many readers I have above the Mason-Dixon, but just know I pardon your eye roll.

Here are some cozy jackets that will keep you warm and in another time would attract a big hug ...

Dark & Light

I'm loving a black top and light jeans look.  The juxtaposition of the two makes for a sharp yet relaxed look. Black tends to be a formal color and a light wash jean is nothing but casual so when paired together you get a balanced ensemble that can transend across occasions.

Personally, I believe it's the atypical pairing of pieces that create the most interesting outfits.

When styling contrasting garments together, you stretch outside the 'event' box by having both elements of dressy and carefree. This also optimizes your wardrobe by creating versatile outfits.

I eyed this blouse for a while as I loved the ruffles, modern details and shape. I rarely wear black, so when I do it must make a statement!

Sweater + Leather

Sweaters & leather go together beautifully!  The two cold weather textures, one soft and the other tough when paired create a chic contrasting combination.

One of the best parts of winter dressing is all the textures, cozy knits, colorful tweeds, butter soft cashmere, thick wools, lustrous velvets and supple leather.  Add some delicate textures like silk and lace for a pretty and seasonal look.
