Friday Favorites: Faux Fur

"My Only True Love, Darling. I Live For Furs. I Worship Furs! After All, Is There A Woman In All This Wretched World Who Doesn't?"
- Cruella De Vil

TGI-Fur Season. Gals, I may not be an animal person but I sure do love fur! Yes, I mean real fur. (don't come at me).  I only have a few pieces and they're all vintage and extremely warm. Faux fur has come such a long way in quality that I'm just as fond of the imitation. Especial in unique designs and colors.

Here are some faux fur options to look fabulous in  ...

also in black
I absolutely LOVE this vest - but already have a brown one and live in the South soooo I'm practicing restraint :)

Pure as the Driven Snow

Gals, if I'm going to go monochromatic, hands down I'm going to choose white - or winter white in this case. There is something elegant, sharp and fresh about a clean palette.

Disclaimer: do not try wearing this with toddlers!

Now, just because there's no color doesn't mean this look is plain or lacks style.  In fact, I still incorporated print with my handbag, texture with my croc boots & knit sweater, shine with my gold earrings and rings and modern detail with the exaggerated shoulder & puff sleeve.

These concepts apply if you were to create a monochromatic look with any color.  They add dimension and detail.

I encourage you to find a shade that suits your fancy and go all out with it!

Party Ready

Gals, I attended my first Christmas party of the season this weekend and gracious was it a fun time! I haven't attended one since 2019 (I can't even).  All the gals were dressed up and jazzed to be mingling & jingling together!

When it comes to getting party ready it's all about the shimmer and shine (that's what Vivian says). I like to get glammed up, feeling fancy and like my best self entering the room.

Here are my favorites to add to any party look that will have you feeling & looking fabulous ...

I wear color 03 in brown bijou
Keep it simple with some black liquid eyeliner & defined brows

I've been wearing this for years!

classic! And important for your nails to be polished
as they're on display as you hold your glass of spirits.

Gals it's winter and our color has not only faded but we surely don't want to be pulling out the pantyhose.
I love this lotion and it adds just the right amount of bronze.

Vivian actually picked up this headband on a recent shopping trip
and I was quite impressed! I feel like I'm wearing a crown!
Headbands are the it thing right now but if that doesn't suit your fancy try a rhinestone clip.

I LOVE big rings (and have quite the collection)
I find them to be so fun & festive.
Anthropologie has so many this season!

Our skin can be so dry this time of year (especially with all the sanitizing!)
I love the smell and softness of this cream - makes a good gift!
Hopefully you'll be hugging, hand shaking, grabbing some snacks & treats so you want your hands to appear healthy.

a satin, colored, or jeweled shoe adds a special touch (I always think of Cinderella)
BUT not too high! You want to enjoy the event with ease.

Chanel is the ONLY perfume I wear. I've been wearing this one for 4 years.

It's a special occasion so leave your tote that has everything but the kitchen sink at home and just throw in some lipstick & your phone (for pics ignore the rest)

A Gracious Smile - It's the best thing you'll wear!
Share it with everyone and enjoy!

Friday Favorites: Tartan Season

TGI-Christmas time! The Christmas magic is here and sprinkled throughout our home.  We've decorated nearly every room with lights, greenery and lots of red velvet. It is true, seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child is pure joy!

Red & green may be the colors of the season, but plaid is the print! Funny enough, plaid is actually one of my least favorite prints. I believe it's because it's most often masculine, dark and seasonal. But when I do find the pattern in a a unique blend of light colors with feminine embellishments I quite fancy it.

This blouse is a perfect example of a pretty plaid. The mix of scale, lighter blues, modern shoulder and lace eyelet details gives this a classic and girlie look.

Here are some festive tartans to celebrate the season in ...

Saved my favorite for last!

Purple & Red

Gals, I love color and I love mixing colors. Dressing colorfully is dressing beautifully.  It adds happy to your outfit and therefore your mood and others around you.

The style and muted purple of this dress really struck my fancy.  Sure I could pair it with neutral boots or a nude scrappy heel but that's not nearly as much fun as red! There's something classic, bold and feminine about red shoes and/or a red handbag. This time of year adding red suits the holiday season but I also love styling it all year long.

I encourage you to pair up your favorite colors! Swap out the neutrals for a bold saturated hue.
