Crisp Illusion

This look completes this week's series on crop-top dresses.   There has to be a limit.

Let's recap the reasons I adore this design:
     Illusion - Looks like a 2-piece
Modern - but reminiscent of mid-century design
Flattering cut - crop top hem highlights the smallest part on the waist
Skirt Options - sheath, tulip, a-line
Detail Options - open back, pockets, scalloped hem
Elongating - Higher waist line creates illusion of longer legs

This dress is made of a light weight poplin cotton in an a-line skirt design - keeping you crisp and cool.

Don't let the solid navy fool you, this dress has interest with pockets and a small open/vented back - not too open so you can avoid the strapless bra.  I added some more fun with a pair of floral pumps.

I love this one for it's easy breeze feel - makes you wanna take a twirl!
Pair it with a pair of sandals and you'll be chic in the summer heat.

Aqua

Another crop-top dress!  I told you I'd be sharing this 2-piece look this week.  This is a prime example of liking a style and buying multiples!  The key is to keep them all different in fabrics, patterns and colors.

Monday I shared this peach dress with scalloped detail.  This one is in another pretty spring shade, aqua.  The fabric is a thick, heavier weight and instead of a solid color this dress is a textured pattern.  I'm quite fond of woven fabrics; meaning the colored threads are intertwined to make an abstract blend.  From far away it looks like a solid but up close you can see the detail.

The aqua swirled pattern reminds me of tropical waters ... I really need a sunny warm vacation!

I paired this bright dress with hot pink patent leather pumps for a fun pop!

Peachy

Isn't this dress just Peachy?!!!

I've always loved the color peach.  It's sweet and soft and reminds me of warm weather.  One of my favorite treats are ripe juicy peaches bought on the roadside while traveling on vacation.  Something about the spontaneity of pulling off the road for fresh air and picking up homegrown elements for a backyard supper filled with carefree happiness that makes me smile ... and want to go pack my bags!

I'm all about a good sale - I don't believe in paying full price - unless I absolutely can't avoid it.  Loft is amazing for it's generous promotions.  I find myself frequently taking advantage.  This dress along with a couple other pieces made it in my shopping bag for a steal!

Besides the color, the laser cut scalloping, crop top design and open back are delicate details that make it ladylike and yet very modern.

The open back is just a sneak peak of interest but still provides ample coverage.

This week I'm going to share my love for these trending crop top dresses.  They create flattering lines and are a modern twist on the ever so popular styles of the 1960's.
Mid-Century fashion - it's my muse!

Mid-Century Modern

This Look Incorporates my Favorites:
Color: White/Ivory
Style: Mid Century Inspired
Cut: Sheath
Print: Leopard (Calf Hair is Best)
Pop: Color & Shine

I Adore Mid Century Fashion,  Defined by the Stylish & Classy Jackie O.
This Crop Top Dress Looks like it Came Right Off the Set of 'Mad Men', And it's in my Favorite Color to Wear,  Naturally it Came Home.

When wearing a Vintage Inspired Piece You want to Pair it with Modern Accessories to Prevent a Costume Look.  I Added Color, Print, & Shine to Complete the Look.

This Necklace is a Favorite for it's Simplicity and it Reminds me of the One Joan Wears on Mad Men.

You could Definitely Call this Dress an Illusion as it Looks like 2 Pieces.  The Copped Top Layer is Flattering Because it Hits High, Right Below the Rib Cage Creating a Small Waist Line.
