Playsuit

Rompers are so fun to wear in the Summer. Why? Well, to me they're as pretty as a dress but you can play in them, hence why they're often called playsuits!

I'm a dressy gal and like my outfits to have color, print and fit in a flattering way (shape and no cling). Playsuits are just what they sound like - a suit that you can truly play in. They can have waist defining structure and an aline design of a skirt/dress ... but with cool movement of a short.

it's sold out nearly everywhere but you can rent here!

Wear them with flat sandals causally or with a heel and small handbag for dressier occasions.

Note: I've purchased this exact romper, in a crisp cool cotton poplin, every year for 3 years - see my first in light pink & last year's in blue print.

Here are some other fabulous rompers:

Worth It Onsie

Rompers, they look like a dress but have the benefit of shorts. In a light weight fabric they're so cool and comfortable for day or night. I love the puff sleeves and roomy fit of this one - so much this is my second. I purchased in a solid light pink last year.

Now, you will be mostly naked each time you visit the ladies room ... but if your romper's cute #worthit

Style Tip: Look for one that has a zipper. This one has buttons and a zipper. The ones with belts or buttons in the back require the most work.

Friday Favorites: Gingham Goodies

TGIF! Gals, I love a gingham print come Spring. It makes me thing of fun outdoor picnics. Personally, I prefer the check pattern in pastels. It's classic with the crisp lines yet soft and feminine in light colors.

Here are some gingham goodies ...

Friday Favorites: Peplum Tops

TGIF! Gals it's been a fun week for me. Lots of exercising & playing outside (lots of Easter egg hunts in our yard). I had my teeth cleaned (I absolutely LOVE going to the dentist so it's a noteworthy) AND I cleaned out my closet putting away my Winter pieces and bringing out my Summer ones. On Monday I'll share a post on my process.

My very first blog post in a dramatic peplum top circa 2014

Today I want to share all about peplum tops. Several years ago they were the "IT' design and for reasons I can't understand they vanished from the racks. The good news is someone in the higher ups of the fashion world discovered this mistake and is making efforts to return these beauties to our closets.

Archives May 2019

What makes a peplum top so pretty?

1. The seam whittles the waist ... do I really even need to give more?

2. The design creates curves and simultaneously camouflages the lower abdomen (if you've had a kid you know)

3. The ruffle hem is feminine.

4. Plays well with pants, skirts and shorts of all designs!

5. Flatters all body shapes and sizes.
