Midas Touch

I believe it's both important to let your light shine through your talents, spirit as well as in your style.

Jewelry, particularly of the gold variety, elevates your outfit creating a look that's elegant, eye-catching and expensive looking.

Jewelry with an outfit, as simple as a tee and jeans, can take a look from basic to stylish.

Here are some of my favorite gold pieces ...

I have this one and love!

Golden

Last week I wore this golden color and my sister says to me, 'that is your color!'.  I was perplexed. I don't gravitate to this shade of yellow, had never thought about it being a complement to my personal tones and yet I don't think she's wrong.

It's just the right amount of bright and bold but in a rich and soft way in this feminine blouse. I easily could have paired it with my go-to light wash jeans but I want to show you more ways to mix colors with other colors, giving your neutrals a break.

I wish I had added a necklace, one that's a bit of a statement with some soft colors to add some texture and print. But also I'm happy with just letting the gold shine.

I love these pants for their high waist and minimal pleating for comfort. They add just the right amount of room so that the fabric skims (more flattering that super fitted).
Tip: If I don't replace the self fabric belt (rare) I will tie it beyond the belt loop so it hangs more on the hip.

I kept my handbag and shoes very soft and neutral as these jewel tones need no competition.

Golden Girl

This dress, in all its luster, is gold!  The rich colors and long flowing fabric make it eye-catching.  Now, at first glance you may say that it's just too nice for our current times. Gals, add a soft black or pink sweater on top or layer a jean jacket with a pair of booties and you'll shine at even the everyday casual occasions.

I'm a dressy gal through and through and each and every time I bust out of our home I'm going to be decked out! I added a stretchy belt for more shape since I didn't layer and a heel but the length didn't require it which is my favorite (heels hurt and I like options)
This dress has pretty tiers for shape so it doesn't require a belt.

I truly believe that we are learning the value of communing and not to take time spent with others for granted. With that I encourage you to embrace a long pretty dress when you step out for a golden opportunity to gather.

Friday Favorites: Sunny Side

TGIF! Gals, I believe it's true that if we keep on the sunny side it will help us every day to stay bright.

Also, dressing yourself in a pretty yellow can also make you feel as good as gold despite whatever the day may bring (it's safe to say we've been given some crazy challenges this year).

Yellow can often be an intimidating color to wear. This saturated jewel tone (think of a peacock feather) is rich and warm so it compliments all skin and hair colors. It's referred to as honey, marigold, ocher, mustard, saffron, gold and sunflower. It one of the pretties colors for Fall and I don't know about you but I'm ready to embrace a new cooler season.

Here are 20 pieces in this sunny shade ...

I added this belt for a more structured shape and my favorite, most worn shoes this summer, these espadrilles.  When it actually does cool off a pair of botties and denim jacket will pair perfectly.

Spring Must Have: Stripes

Spring must have: Stripes.

Ok, let's be honest stripes are for all seasons but something about the bright white and crisp lines screams warm weather.  This dress is a classic and what I like to call a 'Forever Piece'.  Meaning, you will have it in your closet for years of wear making it a wise investment.

The palette is neutral giving this dress endless styling options.  Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, I prefer to swap out self fabric sash/belts with one of my own for added texture, interest and style.  You could also add color to this dress with a blazer, belt, shoes, handbag or jewelry.  I opted to keep the look full of contrast allowing the stripes themselves to be the focal point rather than a pop of color.

I did add some shine with more classics in a pair of gold hoops and cuff bracelet.

Stripes are a staple when it comes to adding print to your wardrobe.
