Light & Lemony

Cotton is the king of fabrics for me. It's natural, breathable, comfortable and just feels so good! Not to mention down here in the south, key for surviving the heat.

I have more crisp white cotton tops than I should admit, but I just love them so so much! They create a bright fresh look with whatever you pair them with. This skirt, also in a crisp cotton poplin fabric and a light lemony botanical print is easy breezy.  The earthy colors and botanical print are interesting but in a traditional way.
This print spoke to me and I encourage you to look for prints that do the same.
When you love a piece of clothing you'll wear it with confidence and have fun styling it! I believe in enjoying your clothes.

Fun Fact: Lemon flavored and printed anything is my favorite!

I paired them with these on trend clogs (they give me a whole new view with the height!) and a statement necklace for added shine, texture and color.  It really breaks up the solid white blouse. I'm really working to wear more of my jewelry this year.

This Spring/Summer keep cool & beautiful in crisp cotton.

1 Dress 6 Styles

It's the first day of November, a new month, new week and so close to the end of this year. Let's make it good, shall we?!

I'm going to start with a pretty dress that comes at a pretty price and flatters all body shapes and sizes.  I'm going to style it several ways sure to fit any occasion and personality.
This dress in a small floral print with lots of color, a waist seam and ruffled hem gives you so many options.

Fashion is what you buy.
Style is what you do with it!

Add a statement belt - This wide belt is going to be worn a ton!

Tip: pull from one of the colors in the print to compliment

A blazer really makes for a sharp office look.

Keep warm adding a cozy sweater in a bright color

Go for an edgy look with a Moto jacket and combat boots.

Personally, I find a fur vest to be the best winter accessory!

Very into Vests

Gals, I'm very into vests. I have been for 2 decades now. Since I'm petite layering long sleeves can be  challenging. Not to mention, it doesn't get really cold down here in the south. I like that a vest adds polished shape and structure to a look without being too bulky or stiff. And just a touch of warmth.

This one is from Amazon! Only the 2nd piece I've purchased from amazon that I like - it's just not my go-to for apparel. It comes in a lot of colors.  I. paired it with a crisp white shirt (with puff sleeves - my jam!), distressed jeans and the hottest shoe right now, clogs.

Note: after taking these pictures I realized these jeans are a bit too long for me so I'm going to cut the hem.  I also prefer a raw hem as it's less bulky.

Classic Chic & Comfortable

My Grandma wore white tops & denim skirts nearly every day. My Mamma and myself are both inspired by her classic style and have a strong affinity for the look. I've shared often that if I had a 'uniform' / go-to outfit it would be a white blouse and jeans.

I love the clean freshness of a crisp cotton white top.  I feel polished and bright when I wear them. Against a nice fitting pair of jeans and you're not only comfortable, you're classically chic! The contrast of blue and white together is soft and just pretty (even in my home decor).

Keeping the look current (never basic) lies in the design details. A little embellishment on a cotton top speaks to the trends while the cut on a jean does the same.

I'm all about a good statement collar as it resembles my Mamma's glory days that she spent mimicking Princess Diana's look.  They also showcase your face, where your smile shines at others.
For jeans flattering cuts are the goal. I went with a slim wide leg to compliment the cropped length of the top.  When I want to look cool, I wear a pair of jeans with distressing.  Play with details that suit your fancy!

Earlier this month I shared the come back of clogs Here. I'm going to strut higher in these platform cuties all season long!

Friday Favorites: Clogs

TGI-Summer! Only a few weeks left.  I find it bittersweet as it's been full of sunshiny fun but I have to admit I miss the routine that school being in session brings.  Sure it's more productivity and less spontaneity but my Type-A self is craving the structure!

Fall apparel is out in full swing for retailers and while I wouldn't mind a cozy top and jeans it's still hotter than the devil's kitchen here! Boots & booties are the forever cold weather shoe but clogs are the next hottest trend.  I saw them beginning to make a come back over the past few years. I even purchased a pair of clog sandals 3 years ago for something comfortable to chase my girl around in.  This year their presence is everywhere in the traditional slip on style.

Loved these the moment I tried them on
Probably a lot to do with the new view from up so high!

Clogs have a very specific look due to their wooden platform and leather slip on style.  While typically I'd say they're have more of a boho natural look to them, paired with ladylike pieces I believe they can be very cute and comfortable.

Bonus: they give you so much height!

Here are some of my favorite clogs ...

Friday Favorites: Comfortable Sandals

TGIF!  This has been an extremely active week.  It didn't rain at all (until today, and it's been coming down all day) and even though it's been cold all week I've been outside for hours each day.  I've had intense workouts (gotta get bikini ready haha) and I've worked in our yard every single day.  Not only did the inside of our new house need some love but so did the landscaping. So I've been cleaning it up and prepping the garden.  This house has a quaint garden framed by a brick wall off to the side.  It's in need of some TLC but I'm excited to try my thumb at growing some vegetables.  I'm also jazzed about introducing Vivian to the deliciousness of a mater sandwich!

I don't know about you but I NEVER expose my piggies without polish. I have tiny and unattractive feet so they need whatever help they can get.  But during the Winter months I take a break and let them breathe. But now I'm ready to put some color on my toes, ditch the boots and closed toe shoes for some sandals!

Gals, I have spring fever something fierce! I've purchased a few outfits and sandals that are teasing me.

Here are some sandals I'm LOVING
confession: some are already in my closet

Knot Slide (these were my valentines day present)

I purchased these!  I'm obsessed because they do not have an ankle strap (impossible to find) or a strap that goes across the base of your toes (also impossible to find) both of these design elements are not flattering nor comfortable on my feet.
They are also light weight and the wedge isn't too high. Epic Win!
Also the metallic straps make them a bit dressy :)

I tried these on today at a local boutique and WOW super comfy.  Definitely pricey but I believe they'd get tons of wear! From casual to dressy.

I love the hardware on these and I'm digging the toe band!  This grey blue is very pretty and different.  This color is exclusive to Nordstrom but the sandal itself comes in several color options.

I like these because you get the height without the uncomfortable heel. They come in 6  colors. And the deign is comfortable. I'm also intrigued about a leopard sandal.  Surprisingly I don't have a pair and this price point is perfect just in case they don't get worn as often as a solid neutral.
